DescriptionOur Animal Assisted Therapy program bring seniors up close with a variety of exotic animals, allowing them the chance to pet and hold them!Not only will their encounter provide them with many memories and stories to tell their families,but the therapeutic benefits to animal therapy are numerous.The benefits of Animal Assisted Therapy include:enhancement of quality of life and well-being,lower levels of depression among the elderly,a positive impact on health factors among patients in hospital settings, including decreasing pain and hyperactivity and reducing blood pressure.The majority of the animals in our care are either ex-pets or rescues. We fund the care of these animals by providing programs such as birthday parties and school visits. Although we do not receive any government funding, we offer our therapy program at a discounted rate because we believe it is an invaluable service.Our facility is inspected twice annually by the OSPCA and we are licenced by the Ministry of Natural Resources.
